I have been so extremely lucky to have met Lindsay and Kevin. They first hired me when they were still living in San Francisco and knew they would be having their wedding local to me in Colorado. I could not have dreamt up what a wild ride we would soon be on. I flew out to California for their engagements (here) and then Covid happened. We were in a bit of uncertainty for a while due to the circumstances. When their original wedding date ended up getting pushed back, a new plan formed. Lindsay and Kevin decided to have a much smaller classic wedding at the Sonnenalp in Vail.
Lindsay and Kevin exchanged vows along the river in Vail at the Luxury Vail resort Sonnenalp. The Sonnenalp was the perfect venue for this certain time, in that the ceremony was held outside along the river and then in the Ludwig’s terrace. This was where they held the reception, in an all-glass space that allows you to enjoy the scenery year-round. The open air feeling not only made it feel magical but we were embraced with beautiful weather, mountainous scenery and the sound of the river in the background. The Sonnenalp was perfect for this classic intimate wedding, but can also accommodate a larger gatherings.
My biggest takeaway from their day was just how happy everyone was. I am in fact writing this blog many years later, but Lindsay and Kev feel more like friends than people who just hired me. Their classic wedding at Sonnenalp Vail was twenty-one people and perfect in every way. I loved getting to know their crew– it made part ii wedding (to come!) even more fun! Enjoy their perfect summer wedding in Vail, Colorado.
