These studio family photos in Portland, Oregon were so much fun to shoot!

Winter in the PNW doesn’t bring the best lighting for photos. We decided to shoot at a natural light studio in downtown Portland! It was the perfect location to shoot studio family photos for Meg and Marc!

I met Meg and Marc when I first moved to Oregon several years ago and on a whim asked them to model for a styled shoot. If you search far enough back you can probably find that shoot. Since then, I’ve shot their maternity photos and now their family photos. I just adore this family so much. This shoot was extra special because it was right before they moved to Germany.

I was so excited to finally meet their firstborn Freddie earthside! He was just the sweetest, most calm, lovely little guy. He was all smiles the whole time, he was such a little stud! They brought along their little Frenchie, Nora. She was such a good little pup and loved being included in the family photos too.

I love shooting families outdoors but there is something about studio family photos that I love so much! The parents can just relax and we can take our time capturing these special moments of their families. I had such a great time shooting Marc and Meg’s family and I’m so glad I could spend a little time with them before their move.

I know they are so thrilled to be in Germany and I am so happy for them! Now, I’m just planning an excuse to be in Europe to continue this family shoot tradition we have going on. I am counting down the days until I get to see them again, even if that means a vacation to Germany!
