Kaley + Colin’s Romantic Lake Chelan Wedding

Their engagement story—a sweet Lake Chelan proposal

These two decided to host their wedding at the same place they got engaged, Lake Chelan. Colin proposed to Kaley over Christmas. They were on a hike beyond their family property, up high enough to get a great view of the lake and mountains. Colin got down on one knee as Kaley was admiring the scenery. She said yes, and after hiking back down, they enjoyed some champagne & celebration with Kaley’s family! Love, love that this place holds such a special place in their heart for many reasons, and that they decided it was the perfect location for the big moment.

Luxe details, heirlooms and pearls

From the moment I started photographing Kaley’s bridal details I knew that every part of this day had been planned out with so much care and intention. Above all, I love seeing which accessories and little pieces of the celebration are important enough to the bride + groom to be photographe. Of course,Kaley’s collection was full of glistening pearls, gorgeous gold rings with sparkling diamonds, and elegant stationery. 

Not only did they have their gorgeous, modern invites, highlighted by clean serif fonts and tasteful cursive. They also had a custom Save-the-Date featuring an illustration of the two of them out on the water! It was the cutest design and such a fun way to invite their guests and honor this special place in their hearts.

The dreamiest bride, wearing Galia Lahav

More on those pearls for a minute. I’m always a fan of stylish pearl jewelry, but Kaley took it to a whole other level. Donning a pair of chunky pearl earrings, an elegant pearl bracelet, and white heels adorned in pearl-like shapes, Kaley was the most beautiful bride and totally embraced the lakeside wedding vibes!

And the dress. I was obsessed with the Galia Lahav gown she picked out as soon as I saw it. Galia Lahav is chic, timeless and the lace was stunning. It looked even more phenomenal once Kaley put it on for the day. She opted for a strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline, a stylish trumpet silhouette, and floral appliqués from top to bottom. In addition, Kaley paired her Galia Lahav with a simple veil, she was one of the most effortless brides I’ve seen.

I’ve been loving the recent white flower trend when it comes to wedding bouquets, and Kaley + Colin’s florist pulled it off so beautifully. Kaley carried around a gorgeous bouquet of elegant white blooms, with little bits of baby’s breath & other subtle pieces of foliage mixed in there, as well as a white ribbon draping from the stems. A real-life angel!

These two tied the knot under the warmth of the eastern Washington sunshine. The florists of Twisted willow created the most spectacular floral-covered arbor. Every bit as elegant as the rest of their day, the arbor framed the bride + groom in front of the lake. It was covered from top to bottom in gorgeous warm, neutral-toned florals and layers of greenery. The weather for this day was perfect and made the ceremony so so lovely with the blue lake in the background!

A dance party + late night snacks to end the day

Kaley + Colin know how to throw a party! The vibes were high and their guests sure loved every second of it. In the end, it was blast getting to watch them have such a good time with their friends (such a fun friend group, too!) Above all, not only was the entire wedding having the best night, but myself and my second shooter, too! They made their exit under an arch of glow sticks held up by their guests, and headed off into married life!!
