This Destination Wedding at Hotel Santa Caterina, on the Amalfi Coast was the perfect way to celebrate Alexis and Nick’s love.
Alexis and Nick had recently just postponed their wedding. When they saw that I was going to be in Italy with full planning with Mae and Co, they reached out. They 100% trusted the vision and even more than that they were just so much fun.
We both live in Colorado so I was able to shoot their engagements beforehand and meet them. I just loved their vibe & how sweet they were. Since that day, I counted down every day until their wedding day on the Amalfi coast.
This late 19th century, liberty style villa was the perfect place to hold their wedding. This Hotel is immersed in the beautiful scenery of the Italian coastline and had the most stunning views.
Hotel Santa Caterina is close to the center of Amalfi overlooking the coastline. It is perfectly located for taking day trips to Positano, Ravello, Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii, and Herculaneum, and Naples. This elegant seaside residence sits on top of the cliffside surrounded by the perennial blue of the Mediterranean sea and sky. It is the most stunning location, surrounded by luscious bougainvillea, olive groves and fruit orchards.
This intimate wedding had less than 50 guests in attendance so it all felt close-knit where everyone knew each other. Destination weddings with a close group are always so special. By the end of the trip everyone knows each other. You get to experience the culture around you and the couple gets to socialize and make memories with everyone.
Alexis and Nick spent the day before their wedding sailing to Capri with some of their guests. Capri is the most popular island to visit. Capri exudes splendor from its high-end shops to its upper-class villas and beach resorts. The coast of Capri has dozens of caves and grottos to explore and it is a perfect place for anyone.
There were so many special moments this day, but I will never forget this one in particular. Alexis and Nick made a toast to all the vendors that were a part of their day and made us all feel so special. We all got a little emotional and it was such a perfect testament to the kind of people they are.
Every detail that went into their day was so special and well thought out. The entire day was filled with romantic table decor, delicious horderves, candid moments and effortless love. It was an Italian coastline dream wedding.
After the cliffside ceremony, we walked down to the coast around sunset for more photos where the sun was setting. We found the most beautiful location down by the water for some bride and groom photos. There was no one else around and we had the whole deck area to ourselves. We drank Aperol spritz’ and wine until late that evening, & had the most fantastic dinner catered by Hotel Santa Caterina. I could not think of a better way to end the night.
