Modelo towers, groovy party buses, chic decor, and dance parties – what more could you want from a downtown Denver wedding? Michaela + Alex’s day at Our Lady of Lourdes & Skylight was an absolute dream from start to finish.

A Chic Downtown Denver Wedding for the Ages

If I had to describe this day in three(ish) words: modern, chic, and very-Coloradian.

When Michaela + Alex told me in their inquiry that they wanted their photos to feel “bright and fun,” and that they were having their reception at Denver’s Skylight venue. I knew it was a no-brainer that we would be a match made in heaven. Their ideal date: “romantic & simple, sitting on the beach, mountain, or our patio just talking with some light music in the background.” Hitting my heartstrings from the get-go with those simple yet meaningful dates that I treasure so much in my own life.

Then, these two dreamed up the most stunning plan for their mid-summer celebration. They had custom signage and bouquets bursting with organic textures. Also, vibrant flowers, to all-around chic decor everywhere you looked. Michaela’s best friend, Monica, is a designer & planner at Details, Darling. So she made sure they really came up with details true to Michaela and Alex. Everything really brought their style to life.

An elegant wedding ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes

After getting ready with their closest guys & gals, Michaela and Alex had a sweet pre-ceremony first look. I’m a sucker for any sort of romantic moment, but first looks never fail to really get me. Seeing a couple come together on their special day and feel all the excitement, the nerves, the mix of emotions is a really special thing to witness.

We lucked out with a gorgeous day as these two as they said their vows at Our Lady of Lourdes in Denver. The brick arch that framed Michaela +Alex, along with two beautiful grounded floral installations, made for an absolutely gorgeous and elegantly-minimal ceremony. We snapped some family photos in the gorgeous greenery on-site before wrapping up the official stuff and heading off to the party!

A downtown Denver wedding reception at Skylight

I’ll never get tired of seeing how couples choose to put together their unique wedding receptions, and Michaela + Alex’s was no exception. They hosted their party at Skylight. One of my all-time favorite downtown Denver wedding venues. This venue provides the loveliest ambiance for every couple’s special day. It boasts gorgeous exposed brick, high ceilings, and wide-open spaces that allow you to fully customize your special day. You host your entire day at Skylight or solely your reception.

Michaela + Alex made their way to Skylight on a party bus with all their closest loved ones. They danced the afternoon away while sipping on their favorite celebratory drinks. They personalized their Skylight wedding reception with Modelo towers (yes, you heard that right – not champagne towers), a fun spot for photos in front of a grass wall, sprawling bouquets hanging from the walls, and a hell of a dance party to end the night.
