This Intimate Romantic, Wedding in Praiano Italy fulfilled all my Amalfi Coast Dreams.

When I spoke with Ashlee and Josh for the first time, I knew it was going to be a perfect fit. I was so excited for what they had planned for their intimate wedding in Praiano Italy! They were so easy going and every decision that went into planning their day was seamless. We hadn’t met prior to Italy but, when I arrived at their Air BnB in Praiano, they all made me feel so welcomed. Ashlee and Josh hired me from Portland, Oregon so it was exciting that we were all flying into Rome. I can now call them friends and that’s why I love shooting small weddings. Intimate weddings often allow me to have conversations with everyone and leave feeling more like friends than just a vendor.

Amalfi Coast Wedding Portraits in Praiano

A day before their ceremony the videographer and I scoped out Praiano and other small cities along the Amalfi Coast. We wanted to find unique places that captured the true essence of the Italian coastline and their romantic wedding day. We spotted this adorable restaurant with steps leading straight down to the water when we were driving. If you haven’t been to the Amalfi Coast yet, the roads are narrow, there are motorcycles and vespas driving in and out of the roads and because every view point is stunning you’re just wanting to look at the coast line but also need to pay attention. It’s just a tad stressful ha. There are designated places to park on the Amalfi Coast and most places require you to pay or valet. The restaurant at the time allowed us to come back around sunset to take photos, but I’ve been again since this intimate wedding in Praiano and they were not as keen. This experience is something I’ll never forget from their day– sneaking away to take portraits as the sun dipped into the ocean.

Private Villa Rental for Intimate Wedding on the Amalfi Coast

When Ashlee and Josh’s wedding day arrived, I woke up so excited for how they were just about to wed on their private balcony with the Amalfi Coast as their backdrop. Talk about a dream ceremony spot. We started the day getting ready in the beautiful rented villa overlooking the ocean. Ashlee and Josh said their vows in private underneath the lemon trees. They opted to use local Praiano art to write their vows on the back of and it now hangs as art in their home. I am forever telling future couples about this unique idea. It was so sweet and a moment they both will never forget. After the most beautiful intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends, we headed into the town to take some bridals. Praiano, Italy is a smaller town nestled in between Positano and Amalfi that I have grown to love even more than the other two cities. Praiano had so many beautiful spots to stop and take their bridals. Every stairway, every backdrop that included the coastline, it was all so magical. We just had so much fun running around the coastal town in their full wedding attire. We ended the night with champagne, dancing, and the most beautiful candlelit dinner.
