Trying to even come up with words on how beautiful Mallory + Scouts day seems impossible. Their story is straight out of a movie + getting to meet and know them both is something I treasure so much. Before I had even moved to Colorado the lovely happy camper films referred me to Mallory for their day and I couldn’t be more thankful. Completely surrounded by the PRETTIEST fall day in front of only their closest friends and family Mallory and Scout got married in the mountains of Aspen. God was fully present and hearing them recap their engagement just months before, again, in Aspen at the Maroon Bells was so incredible to hear. Scout is so thought out and so in love with Mallory, you can literally just see and hear it—I was basically just a pile of mush all throughout their ceremony and hearing them read their letters to each other beforehand. *side note —when they got engaged they carved their initials on an Aspen tree and Mallory had that transpired onto their wedding cake. So cute!
What I love most about first looks is the time you get to be fully present with each other before you even get married. It takes the nerves away, it gives you time to just soak each other in. Mal and Scout exchanged gifts ( a Tiffany’s necklace and an axe— seriously my kind of people right here) and letters. It’s moments like these that are so exciting, so much joy.
The rain was present for bridal party photos, Mallory walked into the ceremony as it was sleeting and a snow storm came but no one was stressed, no one complained. It was truly a remarkable day and all the guests poured their love onto Mallory and Scout. My favorite part of the ceremony was after the first kiss Scout whispered, “We’re going to Banff” for their honeymoon and you could see the excitement in Mallory’s eyes. I can’t make this stuff up people— I love surprises.
The night ended a bit shorter than planned due to a snow storm but before they called it a night we noticed the snow coming down, ran outside, made some stores and it was straight out of a magical snow globe. Ran back in and I just love that you can see all the snow in Mallory’s hair. The most go with the flow, fun, Jesus loving, joyful couple. Happy one year, you two!! We’re obviously bound to see each other again now that I’m in CO! — press play + see allllll the photos because I couldn’t narrow it down.
